We learn from the best, and Aussie Entrepreneur and 6’3” Mom Alexis Fenton surely has a lot to teach us. Learn from her experience as a marketing maverick how to put your attributes forward in all situations. First, you need to own yourself, your body and be authentic. Her confidence is unforgettable and it is insightful to know where she all got it from. If you’re looking at bringing your life and/or your business to the next level, this episode is for you.
Walking into the Intensati class of Patricia Moreno 6 years ago was the Universe telling me “take a look at this”.
I had brought my life to a breaking point with fear and shame being the driving forces. Feeling victimized, enraged, feeling at a loss ready to throw everything away, my marriage, my family life, my life in New York.
Experiencing the overflow of positivity yet empathy in Patricia’s class was opening a crack the door to spirituality in my life. I knew nothing about yoga, about affirmations, about visualizations, about talking to and seeing myself.
There is beauty in differences. Height, color of skin, being out of the norm are more often than not a gift from nature. On this week’s episode, we talk about a difference that is truly remarkable, Albinism.
The ratio of people with albinism (both sexes) in the US is 1 in 17-20,000. It appears that the percentage of people in the US taller than 6ft is 15.5%, with 1% of that being women. Meaning, we know we stand out.
This week’s guest on the podcast has a strong connection to Albinism. In this episode, Award winner Photojournalist Stephanie Sinclair describes how she and her husband got to adopt two children (all at once!) with Albinism after she had done a compelling project in Tanzania for the National Geographic. This episode teaches us how choosing a life of purpose can truly change the world. Her work in the New York Times Magazine, Natural Geographic, The Time, NPR and more has changed cultures and the lives of so many, especially young girls through her non-profit Too Young To Wed.
Alicia is an open-book of authenticity and care. Her story will inspire you and encourage you to love yourself even more, with your shortcomings and all. What a treat to have her on the T-Factor Podcast. This unapologetic beauty shares how she’s come to terms with her body, and then some. She’s been on loud-speaker ever since she’s found her voice and started sharing her journey of self-love.
As Tall ladies, we know the feeling when something fits for the first time or the disappointment when we can't find anything at all. The inspirational Market Space Collagerie is talking straight to the emotions of shopping where you feel right at home and want to hang. The curation is new and right on the money, filling a gap in the industry where you can shop from High street to High End. This episode is for the entrepreneur in you.
Meet the person I want to be when I grow up, Zanna Van Dijk:-)
This is a 6’2” goddess with a deep understanding of who she is and a laser sharp focus on what she has to bring to this world. At 27 years old, this Blogger extraordinaire has Tons to offer us all. Zanna’s Ethos is clear and fought for. She walks the walk in everything that she does, bringing meaning to her life like no other.
Find your Tall Essentials to Rock your work day with brands Zara, Height Of Fashion, Aritzia and Chanel.
In this uncertain period, I find that keeping up with your health routines as much as possible become paramount. No more gym? Take a run outside. No more yoga studio? Use yoga apps to keep you motivated. My favorite one is Yoga Studio.
When you have a rear and front view of your work week and To-Do's = Bliss.
I take the time to enjoy a spot of sunshine, as they say in the UK, with my doggie Cooper. He is, after all, very British my Cavalier King Charles. Someone told me that this breed is accepted everywhere in London, by Royal decree! You can take them to restaurants and stuff, anywhere. I haven't personally tried but perhaps I will now that the weather is getting better (slowly) and the little guy won't come home covered in rain or mud.
In this endless quest of mine to give more meaning to my life, I’ve come to realize how important it is to learn how to automate. Apps simplify our lives, smart banking makes it ridiculously easy to pay your bills, your friends, your kids’ classes and everyone in between so you end up with much more time on your hands to do what really matters.
And of course, giving your time, energy and money to a cause is instantly gratifying and adds ten folds value to your life.
Goodness knows how IMPORTANT a good pair of legging is.
And when you’re uber tall, not easy to find. The length is the killer. Really. Only a few brands will have them come all the way down to the ankles. Usually, it’s a mid-calf situation that leaves a major indent in the skin for what seems like the whole day, because what’s supposed to be at the ankle is strangling the calf. Meaning on any summer day, one has to think hard on which legging to wear at the gym before baring the legs for the day.
As I return to the T-Factor in my new home town of London, I realize that the idea behind this business of mine has evolved during the time I was TRANSFERring my family overseas. Wanting to do it all, the Podcast, the Tall fashion, the blog, the this the that, made me realize I can’t do it all if I want to do it well and with meaning. And if you’ve read some of my previous blog posts, you know by now my mission, for myself and you the readers, is to discover and share all the tools to creating a more meaningful life all around. It is, after all, about TRANSFORMATION of the mind, the body, and the soul. Tada, just that.
I want to take this opportunity in my blog to give out the news that my family and I are moving to London town!! Oh dear!
After living for almost 20 years total in the Big Apple, I am excited to be returning to the Big Ben. And to Europe. Well, I guess not quite Europe anymore, specially now that Boris Johnson has been elected Prime Minister! We're in for a clash of the unpredictable Titans between him and Trump!!
My family and I will be closer to Europe and my home country of France and that's what feels amazing. I'll return to a city I used to live in for a couple of years as a 20 year old. Back then I thought London would be a great city to live in as a family, with children and a dog in tow. This vision is now coming to a reality.
We all want to upgrade to a better, more meaningful life and improve ourselves on many levels. Am I right?
What better way to feel the daily pat on the back when you evolve your habits in the household? And this month of July, unless you don't own a phone, it has been a runway of amazing Plastic Busting endeavors on all social media platforms.
This is an emotional episode for ML. Hearing Amy Rosenthal from Amalli Talli talk about the debilitating effect her own perception of her difference had on her, it felt like Amy was telling ML's story.
Meet ex-volleyball players, 6'4" Amy Rosenthal and 5'10" Amy Black, Founders of Amalli Talli, a Tall Fashion brand dedicated to women with shopping difficulties. Tired of living in a world that didn't take their height into serious and kind consideration, the sisters show vulnerability and power to help themselves and their community change their narrative. As they put it "when style + fit come together, it is truly life changing." Their willingness to share their experience is what attracts so many tall gals, and ML!, into their world.
Launching the T-Factor world has helped me find the most AMAZING brands that cater to Tall people! It's actually the most exciting part of what i do, to find the little gems that give a little sparkle (if not tear) in my eyes. Because that's how exciting it is to find clothes when you're 6'1" and above. It's earth shattering.
As the T-Factor is gearing up to create the first online Tall Fashion blog featuring High and Low fashion, it is quite fitting to have fashion designer Natalie Matthews, Founder of Melbourne based Height of Fashion, talk to us about clothes, advocacy and pride. Find out how necessity is the mother of all inventions in this Tall Tale of solving a big problem: empower tall women with comfortable, feminine and fitting clothes to be the best versions of themselves. Sounds familiar? That's ALL we talk about here at the T-Factor and Natalie has the perfect words to make us all feel beautiful, strong and love the body we're in.
Ok, so here’s the deal.
I have been slacking. Or been disorganized or mismanaged my T-Factor launch, probably all of the above. Yes, in this year of self-proclaimed empowerment with taking back ownership of my life and actions, I’ve had a set-back.
One of the reasons I have been missing in action for the past two weeks is actually funny. At least that’s how I see it.
Co-Founder of the Handel Group, Life Coach, Author with a knack for unforgiving Truths, Lauren Zander will pull the carpet right from underneath your feet. The result?
As I sit in the plane on my way to Lebanon for a family visit, I struggle to find joy and peace being with my three children.
There. Sacrilege, I’ve said it.
I must be at the 100th “mommy” at this point, being an hour away from Beirut. Meaning NYC- Paris, lay-over, and now Paris-Beirut, 16 hours in, the kids are ready to climb up the curtains if there were any on this plane. You see, direct flights between the US and Lebanon don’t exist. You can fly direct to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem which are less than 100 miles south of there but flying to Lebanon which shares a border with Israel is non grata.
I’m posting this week some words I have written not so long ago, inspired by the book Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis. She is an amazing Lifestyle expert, creator of TheChicSite.com and CEO of Chic Media company. A powerful author who tells it like it is and exposes the lies we believe about ourselves. In this book, she tackles her own lies she believed about herself one by one to reveal the frauds that they were.

Music
I’m songwriter by trade, a singer by heart and an all-around explorer of the human condition.
I started writing lyrics at 16 years old. No musical training, no singing technique and no writing formula. Just text coming out of my head in the form of a melody. Quite fittingly, my first song ever was called “Ecstasy” and how I wanted to reach it and be allowed to be me. Many years forward, I still seek it. But now, I am on a constructive path to bliss.
